Course Objective

The objective of the course is to develop basic knowledge and skills of how to prepare, process basic cost information to support management in planning and decision making in a variety of business contexts.

Learning Outcome

After completion of the course students are expected to have the following competence:​

  1. Explain the role of costing within the organization and how costs are classified ​
  2. Describe and record costs by classification ​
  3. Explain and apply cost accounting techniques ​
  4. Use management accounting techniques to make and support decision-making. ​
  5. Explain principles of cash management​
